Doctor Boldini, what led you to be interested in automation?
Initially, pure curiosity: we had decided to renovate and, during the design phase, the supplier had shown us the enormous amount of space that we could have recovered if we had installed a robotic warehouse on the lower level of the pharmacy. Automation opened up to the possibility of a completely different organization of our space, with many more services.
We could therefore say that the first factor that led us to be interested in automation was the possibility of recovering spaces for the customers. Then the various logistical advantages.
What led you to decide to rely on Pharmathek for the automation of your pharmacy?
After evaluating several suppliers, we determined that Pharmathek was the company offering the best automation solution. In addition to having a product with excellent characteristics, in terms of technology, robot structure and speed, we also appreciated the proximity to the company and assistance.
In addition to the space savings, what were the most appreciated advantages of installing the robot?
From a logistical point of view, there are many advantages. In particular, we appreciated the fact that, thanks to the automatic loader, the products are inserted in complete autonomy inside the robot, without any human intervention.
We also appreciated the speed of the robot and its extreme precision, both in product delivery and in monitoring expiration dates.
Last but not least: we now spend significantly less time managing stock and much more with our customers, offering them advice and services.
How has the work in the pharmacy changed since the installation of the robot?
The approach to work has changed, now we never leave the counter, we always remain in contact with the customer while the robot comfortably brings the product to the counter. Initially my collaborators and I were a little worried about how to fill the extra time available, but actually it was very natural to learn how to manage these additional seconds: we offer further advice to the customer, we give indications on therapy, we propose new services and so on.
The robot is easy to use and the Pharmathek technical assistance service is truly exceptional: they are always very helpful and kind.
