Doctor Paulin, what led you to rely on Pharmathek for the automation of your pharmacy?

The previous positive experience: years before I acquired this pharmacy, I perceived the need to install an automated warehouse in another pharmacy – Pharmacy Trento Trieste in Bologna – and I got in touch with various suppliers.

After evaluating the alternatives, I found that Pharmathek had many points of strenght. Among these, the quality of the product, the 100% Made in Italy production, the access to every function within the company.

 

What has changed after the renovation and automation of the Pharmacy Del Sole?

A lot of things have changed. When we took over from the previous owner, there were big space issues. These were detrimental to the operations of the staff did not allow us to offer our clients an optimal shopping experience.

The installation of the automated warehouse system and a well-designed layout have made it possible to recover a lot of space to dedicate to the customer. This, together with a careful combination of materials and finishes, have created a more welcoming environment, more spacious and bright, without the sense of oppression of the previous situation.

 

What can you tell us about the impact of the robot on the workflow?

We gained many advantages: before the robot’s installation my colleagues were forced to leave the counter, look for products in too many drawers with the risk of not being able to find them.

Now the robot allows us to know exactly where each product is and to comfortably receive it to counter, delivered by the robot.

This improved the quality of work: my colleagues and I do not have to waist our time collecting and managing the stock anymore.

 

What was the reaction of the customers of Pharmacy del Sole?

They were surprised: Pharmacy del Sole is not located in a central district of Bologna and the presence of the robot represents a novelty factor that enriches the service in the eyes of the customer. Not to mention the ability to fulfil orders more quickly and therefore to clear the queue faster.
