Doctor Genesi, what led you to want to automate your pharmacy?
We decided to automate the pharmacy to keep up with the times, with an eye towards the future. This is because we have a staff made up entirely of pharmacists and, as there is no figure dedicated to warehouse management, with the installation of a robotic warehouse we have been able to significantly reduce the time dedicated to stock management. I can say that it was a very good choice.
Why did you decide to rely on Pharmathek for the automation of your pharmacy?
We chose to rely on Pharmathek because the robot is extremely fast and performing, and has a software that is really simple to use.
But what struck me most was certainly the exclusive “Euclid3D” patent, the only mechanical gripper on the market that, even in the configuration with a single manipulator, has remarkable performances as it allows to deliver numerous products in a single journey.
What are the main advantages you have found from a logistical point of view? And from the point of view of work?
At the logistical level, we have seen an increase in control and efficiency both on stocks and on expiry dates. At the same time, we have significantly reduced the time spent managing the warehouse.
Automation has allowed my team to have more time to dedicate at the counter to advise the customer. This obviously had excellent implications for working in the pharmacy, both from a professional point of view, as we can devote ourselves completely to listening and advising the customer, and commercial, as we have more time to propose additional services and promote our initiatives.
How did customers welcome the novelty of automation?
Customers have reacted very positively, showing that they appreciate a lot the extra time spent with them at the counter, advising them on products and treatments.
Would you recommend Pharmathek to colleagues?
I definitely recommend Pharmathek automation: talking to some pharmacist colleague, sometimes you are uncertain about the advantages offered by automation because these sophisticated systems are scary, they seem too complicated.
Instead, once you try them, you immediately understand how simple they are to manage!
