Pharmacy Stern (in German, Stern Apotheke) is equipped with a Pharmathek robot.

Doctor Meierhofer chose to automate her pharmacy because she wanted to offer an excellent service to her customers without abandoning them at the counter.

The robot, installed behind the prescription counter but separated from the sales area by a wall, is characterized by a two-tone appearance: the central robotic unit is grey while the Pharmaload automatic loader is blue.

Doctor Meierhofer, what led you to decide to robotize the pharmacy?

I chose to install a robotic warehouse in the pharmacy because I believe that nowadays everything that can be done by a machine should be done by a machine. This way we can spend more time “person-to-person”, focusing on relationships.

 

What led you to decide to rely on Pharmathek for the automation of your pharmacy?

I chose Pharmathek for the innovative grip system and for the prompt local assistance service. I also appreciated its fine Italian design: you can see that Sintesi by Pharmathek is the result of the creativity of a great industrial designer.

 

How did the pharmacy management change after the installation of the robot?

Since we installed the robot, the entire pharmacy, from the back office to the sales area, has become tidier. I also saved a lot of space in the back office.

From the point of view of product management, there have been no more inventory errors and expiration dates are always under control. Furthermore, with the same space we can now stock many more products than before.

 

How did customers react to automation?

Very well: customers appreciate the fact that we spend more time with them listening to their problems and giving them advice without having to run back and forth to retrieve their products.

 

Why did you choose to customize the robot from an aesthetic point of view?

To highlight its presence. After all, automation is innovation. Its presence should therefore be clearly visible to the customer.

 

Would you recommend Pharmathek to your colleagues?

Of course! I have already shared my experience with other pharmacists and I will continue to do so in the future. Me, as the other pharmacists who have chosen Pharmathek, are extremely satisfied with the robot.
